House Republicans Outline Their Plan

The House Republicans unveiled their plan to repeal the computer services sales tax during a press conference earlier today.

"The computer services tax sends the wrong message at a time when we are trying to promote Maryland as a leader in the knowledge-based economy," said Del. Jeannie Haddaway (R-Dist. 37B). "These are high paying jobs in a clean industry that is not confined by geographic borders."

The Republicans would offset the repeal by reducing the proposed fiscal 2009 general fund budget by $203 million. Click here (pdf) to view their list of cuts.

Our coalition continues to work with lawmakers from both parties to try to build a bi-partisan consensus to repeal the tech tax.
